The Apollo Theater Africa Now! and African Film Festival 30th Anniversary Celebration present the legendary Oumou Sangaré with host Femi Oke of The Stream (Al Jazeera English). The Apollo’s annual Africa Now! series celebrates the best of today’s African music scene.
GRAMMY-Award winner Oumou Sangaré, “The Songbird of Wassoulou," returns to America for a one-night only special concert. Sangaré's work spans traditional Malian sounds and contemporary music from Africa and across the globe. She has collaborated with artists as diverse as Bela Fleck, Herbie Hancock, Seal, P!nk, and Jeff Beck, and has performed the world over. This concert marks her Apollo debut.
Africa Now! Package: This year's Africa Now! returns in April with 3 exciting music performances to choose from. Performances inclue the legendary Oumou Sangaré on April 4th, and both Africa Now! Music Cafes on April 3rd and April 4th. Bundle any two or more performances to save.
