Matthew Whitaker was a winning participant of the “Child Stars of Tomorrow” competition, as part of Amateur Night at the Apollo in 2010. A year later, at just 10 years old, he was invited to perform at Stevie Wonder’s induction into the Apollo Theater’s Hall of Fame. He returned to the Apollo for FOX TV’s revival of SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO in 2016, where he wowed the audience with his rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “I Wish.” He also appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show recently. Matthew’s debut album “Outta the Box”, produced by the Jazz Foundation of America, is on sale now.

17-year-old Lianah Sta. Ana is no stranger to the stage. She was the 2010 Amateur Night at the Apollo Star of Tomorrow Season Champion — its first Filipino-American winner; a 2016 winner of the National Young Arts Foundation Competition in Theater; and is a 2017 Presidential Scholars candidate. She has performed in storied venues from Carnegie Hall to the White House to Hackney Empire in London, and for nearly every major metropolitan sports team. She recently made her Broadway debut as the standby for the lead role of Kim in Miss Saigon.

The Apollo Theater is proud to have been a part of these young stars’ amazing journeys.
