Please join us at the Apollo Theater for a special half-day seminar for youth (ages 15 to 21) who are interested in technical stage production and performing arts; presented in partnership with the 92nd Street Y's Teen Arts Week, NYC’s first-ever citywide celebration of the arts—for teens, by teens. Leading cultural organizations in all five boroughs will present free classes, workshops and performances for teens from May 13-19, 2019. Events enable teens to gain hands-on experience in different areas of the arts, engage with professionals in the creative industries, and explore pathways to future leadership within the context of the arts.
Taking the Stage gives aspiring performing artists and production technicians the opportunity to study under Apollo professionals as they learn what it takes to mount a live production. Participants will be introduced to the tools needed to be successful within the arts and entertainment industries, in the areas of stage performance and technical stage production.
