A Rhythm and Blues Road Trip
Tuesday, April 16 | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
$15 per person (includes workshop, light refreshments, and all materials)
Take a trip with the Michael David Band to visit important artists and places where R&B put down roots, created new sounds, fought for civil rights and remains the contemporary expression of the soul and voice of our nation. Participants will write lyrics, sing, and play basic rhythm patterns under the guidance of the Michael David Band. Teachers will have fun performing their own songs and take away practical teaching strategies to share R&B with students to connect social studies, literacy and music.
Workshop is presented in conjunction with our upcoming School Day Live: Apollo Rhythm & Blues Revue with the Michael David Band performance on May 3, 2019. Participation in this program provides 1.5 hours of CTLE credit.
Registration Deadline: Friday, April 12, 2019
