A Journey Through the Caribbean
Professional Learning Workshop with ¡RETUMBA!
Wednesday, February 27 | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
$15 per person (includes workshop, light refreshments, and all materials)
Throughout history people have engaged in music and dance specific to their communities’ culture. Studying the folklore of these cultures allows us to observe the way people lived and how they choose to express themselves. Often dance and music is the vehicle which a story is communicated and students often express their cultural identity through the arts. What can we learn about our global community by engaging with music and movement? Spend the afternoon with us exploring Antillean culture through dance and rhythms. Be prepared for an active workshop, wear comfortable clothing and your dancing shoes!
This workshop is presented in conjunction with our School Day Live performance ¡RETUMBA! A Journey Through the Caribbean.
¡RETUMBA!
