IRVIN MAYFIELD'S JAZZ PLAYHOUSE
JAZZMEIA HORN, CAMILLE THURMAN, GLORIOUS
Saturday, October 31 at 7:30PM
The inimitable Dee Dee Bridgewater curates a trio of this generation’s jazz vocal powerhouses to kick off a special Irvin Mayfield’s Jazz Playhouse edition of Apollo Music Café. Jazzmeia Horn, winner of the 2013 Sarah Vaughan Jazz Vocal Competition, turns musical phrase from words to feeling with the finesse and flare of the “Divine One.” First class saxophonist Camille Thurman blows the proverbial roof off the place then flexes her vocal chords. The astonishing livetronica drummer and singer Glorious rounds out this trio.
