This concert features the incomparable artist, Kamasi Washington who is considered this generation’s torchbearer for progressive, improvisational music. Washington and his 10-piece band, The Next Step, take audiences on adventurous odysseys that cross musical genres from jazz, to hip-hop, classical and R&B music.

As Told To G/D Thyself, a short film conceptualized by Kamasi Washington and directed by The Ummah Chroma: Bradford Young, Terence Nance, Jenn Nkiru, Marc Thomas and Washington. Shot in Baltimore and the UK, the film unites animation and live footage in an exploration of youth, morality, identity and the world-building capacity of the human mind, all soundtracked by music from Washington's massively acclaimed 2018 album, Heaven and Earth. As Told To G/D Thyself premiered at Sundance in January 2019.
