Global Citizen and Vera Institute of Justice are teaming up to present an evening of moving and motivational testimonials, musical performances, and thought-provoking conversation about criminal justice reform and mass incarceration in America.
The United States, home to just 5% of the world's population, houses 25% of all incarcerated people in the world. At What Cost? examines the cultural, societal, and financial toll of this epidemic and features first-hand accounts of life in prison and those who lingered in jails unable to pay cash bail--frequently following accusations of minor, non-violent crimes.
