Marcus Machado and Friends
Having recently released his debut EP 29 (available everywhere online), Marcus Machado has been playing the acoustic guitar since the age of one and the electric guitar since the age of two. His first performance was in kindergarten, where he played “The Wind Cries Mary” by Jimi Hendrix on a guitar synthesizer. Marcus has been called the “Young Jimi Hendrix” but he wants to be known for his original music, which contains influences of Jazz, R&B, Funk, Rap, Rock and Gospel. He has played along with greats like Buddy Miles, Robert Glasper, Marcus Miller, Ramsey Lewis, Sandra St. Victor, Zakk Wylde, Vernon Reid, Corey Glover, DJ Logic, Tony Royster, Kid Capri, Gary Hoey, and many others.
Joining him as special guests for his Apollo Theater debut is Pharoahe Monch, Sandra St. Victor, Daru Jones and Angela Johnson.
