Saturday Workshop Series

The Apollo Theater Academy Saturday Workshop Series teaches high school students about technical careers in arts and entertainment, including programs to support and enhance technical stage production such as IT networking, video mapping, and AutoCAD.

The Saturday Workshop Series provides participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to explore technical careers in the arts and entertainment industries.

The Saturday Workshop Series is a free program and is open to students in the 10th grade. Classes meet on Saturdays for 12 weeks. Spring 2020 classes take place March 21st through June 6th, from 11:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.

  • You must be a high school student with a valid school ID, school record/schedule, or report card.
  • You must be available and commit to attending each Saturday from March 21 through June 6, 2020.
  • You should have an interest in technology careers in the arts, theater, or entertainment industry
  • You and a parent/guardian are required to attend an orientation on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by Amateur Night.

How to Apply

1: CAREFULLY READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. You will find these at the top of each section of the application.

2: COMPLETE THE APPLICATION FORM. Be sure to fill out Sections 1-3 of the application and to keep the application in order. Neatness counts!

3:  ASK FOR A RECOMMENDATION from at least one adult such as a teacher, guidance counselor, or mentor in support of your application. Write your name in the Applicant’s Name box on both parts of Section 4 before giving these pages to the person who will write your letter.

4: SUBMIT YOUR COMPLETED APPLICATION IN PERSON OR ONLINE by Friday, March 6, 2020.
